Honorable Prime Minister,

Please allow me, on behalf of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress-Montreal Branch, to extend to you the warm congratulations and best wishes of our community. We welcome your leadership and wish you well in your new role of Prime Minister of Canada.

On behalf of the Congress, I wish to endorse the appointment of Mrs. Martha Kozub to the Senate of Canada. She is a distinguished member of the Ukrainian community in Quebec who has spent her professional life as an educator in this province. She moves comfortably between the French, English and ethnic environments and her sensitivity to the needs of these communities would make her an asset to our country.

You have always championed a more inclusive government reflective of regional and ethnic representation, and Martha’s appointment to the Senate would not only honor our community in Canada, but would also give credence to the recognition of the multicultural heritage of Canadians.

We therefore ask you to recognize this Senate appointment which has been endorsed not only by the Ukrainian community, but also by other political and professional leaders.
